Abstract

Congressional Term Limits Coalition Inc. is seeking to force a referendum vote on term limits for Maine's congressional representatives, but an extremely low turnout November 2 is frustrating their efforts to gather the 52,308 signatures needed to get the measure on the 1994 ballot. The group gathered an estimated 20,000 to 25,000 signatures, but if the total amount needed is not collected by next fall they will have to start all over again at the November 8, 1994, elections. Details, list of successes and failures in recent referendum drives.
