Abstract

The Maine Department of Environmental Protection is expected to fine the town of Freeport between $5,000 and $7,000 for the illegal removal and disposal of asbestos insulation from the old public works and fire building. Town Manager Dale Olmstead said he is sure that Public Works Director Al Thompson did not inform him that the structure contained asbestos. Details.
