Abstract

Crewmen from the U.S. Coast Guard cutter Wrangell caused 50 gallons of diesel fuel to spill into Portland Harbor when they tried to pump the fuel into a storage tank that was already full. An official with the Maine Department of Environmental Protection said the Coast Guard will not be fined for the incident because it took the proper steps after the spill was discovered. Details.
