Abstract

J. Terrance Murray, chairman of Fleet Financial Group, parent of Fleet Bank of Maine, the state's largest bank, recently told a Boston business audience that Fleet Financial expects to make a significant reduction in its workforce as part of a restructuring of the company. Some departments face 50 percent staff reductions. Fleet currently has 104 branches and 1,500 employees in Maine.
