Freeport has had an unrestricted elementary-choice program for three years, with three distinctly different approaches to learning from which to choose. While many students and their parents are opting for the classes with a mix of third through fifth graders or the less structured program at the old Soule Street School, the fact that fewer are choosing the traditional classroom setting has some observers worried.
