Abstract
Dennis Michael Wienclaw, who left Portland in 1972 because of community intolerance to his gay lifestyle, returned to be with his mother prior to his death from AIDS on November 28, 1991. Judy Jackson, Wienclaw's mother, helped make a quilt panel telling his story. The panel has been sewn into a quilt that tells the story of seven other Mainers who have died of AIDS, and their quilt and the AIDS Memorial Quilt will be on display December 1 at the Portland YWCA.
