Abstract

Through August, the state's lobster catch had dropped 17 percent in the number of pounds caught and by 23 percent in dollar value. During that period lobstermen had caught 10.7 million pounds of lobster, earning $29.3 million. During the same period last year, the catch stood at 12.9 million pounds, which sold for a total of $38 million.
