Abstract

Salvage crews yesterday recovered the wreckage of the Airmed helicopter that crashed into Casco Bay last week, killing three people. In an action unrelated to the crash, Airmed Skycare Inc., the owner of the crashed helicopter, is being sued by a former employee who says he was fired for testifying against pilot Sean Rafter and Airmed's parent company, Echo Inc., for their repeated violations of federal law. Echo suffered a 15-day suspension of its license in 1989 as a consequence. The violations included flying over water without proper flotation devices.
