Abstract

A number of pollsters, consultants and politicians asked to analyze the situation believe that Maine voters are trying to regain control over a government which many feel has failed them. The support of legislative term limits in a referendum earlier this month is one expression of voter frustration with the political system. A recent survey showed that 51 percent of the Mainers polled lacked confidence in state leaders. Details.
