Abstract

School superintendent of schools Shirley P. Grover of Scarborough, when asked by the Lions Club to send fliers announcing a tree-lighting ceremony home with schoolchildren, wouldn't allow the request because she felt the flier was too religious for the public schools. The Scarborough Board of Education on Thursday overruled Grover, and said the fliers could go home with the students. Details.
