Abstract

The Route 111 overpass in Biddeford, where, earlier this year, the Rev. Elizabeth Morris was killed by falling concrete, is being repaired by the Maine Turnpike Authority after a motorist reported seeing falling pieces of concrete. Most highway overpasses in the state were built in 1946, and many of the approximately 70 existing overpasses need major repair.
