Abstract

Around 16,000 state employees, teachers and municipal workers who contribute to the Maine State Retirement System each owe the state an average of $600 due to their having made underpayments on their state income tax returns. The unpaid taxes are expected to be worth between $3 million and $9 million to the state. Details.
