Abstract

Some Scarborough residents are concerned that school officials are being overly cautious about Christmas, and might spoil the holiday for their children. School superintendent Shirley Grover, principals and teachers recently launched a review of how appropriate it is for the school system to encourage gift exchanges and holiday decorating. Grover said she is not only concerned about the law separating church and state but is trying to be sensitive to the town's non-Christian residents. Details.
