Abstract

The University of Maine at Orono on Wednesday suspended Black Bears hockey coach Shawn Walsh for five days without pay for failing to tell the school that freshman defenseman Jeff Tory had been ruled ineligible by the National Collegiate Athletic Association because of his high school academic record. It is likely that Maine will have to forfeit the three victories in which Tory played at the beginning of the season. Details.
