Abstract

Carl Leinonen of the Maine State Employees Association says a state directive requiring hundreds of workers in the law-enforcement bargaining unit to take an additional seven days off without pay is illegal. The other four MSEA bargaining units are operating under contracts which phased out the so-called furlough days, but the law-enforcement unit has not yet ratified its new agreement.
