The University of Maine System's student body is more racially diverse than the state as a whole, with minority students making up 2.6 percent of the student body as compared to the 1.6 percent minority population of the state. The number is heavily skewed by the Native American figures, with the system made up of 1.17 percent Native Americans as compared to 0.5 percent statewide. Details.
