Abstract

Cumberland County Superior Court justice Kermit V. Lipez on Thursday ruled that the Portland City Council acted properly in 1992 when it refused to renew the liquor license of Sharky's, a bar in the Old Port. The state Liquor Commission had reversed the city's denial of a license to the bar, but Lipez ruled that in doing so the commission dismissed some testimony and gave improper weight to other testimony.
