Abstract

Gov. McKernan's stated willingness to consider a Passamaquoddy-run casino in Calais has injected new life into the proposal and removed a major obstacle to its passage through the Legislature. McKernan said he would consider a casino plan which assured that the project would be family-oriented and structured tightly enough to keep out criminal elements. Details.
