Abstract

Declining fish stocks in New England and Canada are resulting in Maine seafood wholesalers going worldwide to satisfy the demand for seafood. There is still a plentiful supply of locally-caught cod, hake and cusk, but much of what is sold in local restaurants and stores is purchased elsewhere, resulting in greater choice and cheaper prices for the consumer.
