Abstract

The Junior League of Portland plans to close the Thrifty Yankee Shop at 618 Congress Street, which has been in operation for 67 years, on December 31. The non-profit Junior League first opened the Salvage Shop in October 1926, and the store's name and location changed numerous times before it settled at its current location in 1966. Details.
