Abstract

Seafood Atlantic, headquartered in New York with operations in Maine, has contributed $30,000 to the University of Maine to research the urchin. The study will examine economic and biological perspectives of the urchin industry, which in ten years has grown from nearly nothing to the state's second-most important fishery in terms of weight and value.
