Abstract

Attorney General Michael E. Carpenter and Public Safety Commissioner John R. Atwood both registered strong opposition to the Passamaquoddy Indians' proposal to build a gambling casino in Calais. The public hearing before the Legislature's Judiciary Committee was dominated by supporters of the proposal.
