Abstract

The Department of Human Services says the state has collected $4 million in overdue child support from deadbeat parents since a new law was enacted allowing officials to revoke the driving and professional licenses of those delinquent in payments. A mailing earlier this year to 17,000 delinquent parents warning them of the consequences of remaining in arrears on payments has prompted around 5,000 of them to come forth and pay up. Details.
