Abstract

Great Northern Splicers of Sanford, run by Roland Boivin, is one of the few independent fiber-optic splicers in northern New England. Boivin and his seven employees have been doing jobs for the U.S. Navy in Cutler and various small phone companies, and hope to be well-poised when the communications revolution occurs.
