Abstract

A shipment of 335 earthmovers, tractor-trailers, cranes and other construction equipment will be loaded onto barges at Merrill's Marine Terminal starting Thursday, and is scheduled to depart Saturday for Guatemala to be used in a U.S. Army Reserve and National Guard exercise. It is believed to be the first large shipment of military equipment through Portland Harbor in recent years, and Merrill's Marine Terminal negotiated for more than a year to handle it. Details.
