Abstract

The five-member Harpswell Conservation Commission, appointed by the Board of Selectmen, is looking at ways to preserve and protect the town's 47 islands. The islands, which range in size from under half an acre to more than 100 acres, are visited by a growing number of campers and other visitors each year, and residents fear that their fragile resource is increasingly threatened.
