Abstract

Portland's 19-member Housing/Zoning Committee yesterday proposed the establishment of a permanent committee to assist social service agencies in finding appropriate sites for their programs. The proposal was one of the first to come from the committee, which was assembled by Mayor Anne B. Pringle in response to concern about proposed zoning amendments that would prohibit new group homes and halfways houses from certain neighborhoods. Details.
