Abstract
Delia Pherson, 26, of Hampden, is apparently the first surrogate mother to give birth at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. Pherson was artificially inseminated with the sperm of David Stagg of Guilford, Conn. Pherson delivered a 7-pound, 2-ounce girl last month, and the child is now with Stagg and his wife Suzanne.
