Abstract

John J. Nissen Baking Co. of Portland has discontinued its boxed cake business, resulting in the temporary layoff of 16 employees. Most of the employees will be recalled January 24 when the company increases its roll and bread production, with an increase in hiring anticipated for the end of March.
