Abstract

South Portland High School students are leading a campaign for the construction of a performing arts center. The drive is supported by Superintendent of Schools Reginald MacDonald and five members of the school board. MacDonald notes that the school is the only one of its size in Greater Portland without such a facility. Some see the project as a waste of money that could be better spent on a new gym at the Redbank Elementary School.
