Abstract

Mercer Management Consulting of Lexington, Mass, and Pan Atlantic Consultants of Portland will conduct a $300,000 study for the state to determine if a cruise ferry bringing tourists from the mid-Atlantic region to Maine would be feasible -- The high-speed ferries would be built by Bath Iron Works, helping the shipbuilder in its conversion to non-defense-related activities, and bringing tourists to the state by water could boost tourism and reduce congestion on the Maine Turnpike -- The study will be funded by the US Department of Commerce, BIW and the state -- Details
