Abstract

Portland Mayor Anne B Pringle assembled a 17-member Industry and Commerce Plan Advisory Committee to look at ways to improve the climate for industrial development and expansion in the city -- The committee is expected to finish its work in February, and will likely propose financial incentives, new economic development programs and friendlier zoning laws as some of the ways the city can attract and keep businesses in the downtown and beyond -- Details, list of businesses and organizations receiving financial assistance from the Downtown Portland Corporation since its formation three years ago
