Article details plans for a major new piece of equipment for the Bath Iron Works -- Final design approval is expected for a new transporter which is capable of carrying a 450-ton section of a ship, more than twice the current transporter's capacity -- This transporter, built in Germany, will allow the Bath plant to use more efficient construction practices developed in recent years
