Abstract

A public hearing held before the Legislature's Appropriations and Human Resources committees heard criticism of the McKernan administration's proposal to cut Medicaid coverage for elderly people in Maine's nursing homes. The proposal would affect more than 6,000 of the 8,100 senior citizens living in nursing homes in Maine, and would save an estimated $99 million over the next two years. Details.
