The 441-foot SS Jeremiah O'Brien, the last original Liberty Ship and one of 236 built at the South Portland Shipyard, will visit Portland Harbor this summer after participating in the celebrations off France marking the 50th anniversary of D-Day -- The O'Brien, now berthed in San Fransisco, is the only ship of the 5,000 which took part in the D-Day invasion that survives in its original shape today -- Details
