Abstract
The last aircraft from Loring Air Force Base in Limestone, a KC-135R refueling tanker, left the base yesterday for Robins Air Force Base in Macon, Georgia -- The base, slated for closure in September, provided as many as 3,300 military and 1,300 civilian jobs, along with an additional 3,900 spinoff positions -- A state report has indicated Arroostook County will lose 20 percent of its economic base with the closing of the facility, including 8,500 jobs and $152 million in annual earnings -- Details
