Abstract

Stanley F Druckenmiller, 40, a Bowdoin graduate and managing partner at Soros Management Fund in New York, has pledged $14 million to Bowdoin College over the next 3 1/2 years The money, the largest donation ever given to Bowdoin, will go to the construction of a new science building Druckenmiller, dubbed a "boy wonder" of the financial world by The New York Times, is a 1975 graduate of Bowdoin, where he helped work his way through school by running a hot-dog stand in Bath -- His partner in the hot-dog venture was fellow-student Lawrence B Lindsey, now a governor of the Federal Reserve Board
