The Public Utilities Commission this week approved new rates for the Portland Water District -- Costs for customers in the cities of Portland, Westbrook, and South Portland increased 33 percent, while the rate for customers in -- the towns of Cape Elizabeth, Cumberland, Falmouth, Gorham, Scarborough, Standish and Windham increased 19 percent -- The monthly bill for the average city customer who uses 700 cubic feet of water per month will increase from $1381 to $1837 Very brief details
