Abstract
The U.S. Customs Service has agreed to increase the tariff on imported down comforters, an action that could help Portland-based Cuddledown, which had asked the Maine congressional delgation to petition for the change. Cuddledown employs 35 people and had sales of $5 million in 1993. President Christopher Bradley purchased the near-bankrupt company in 1988, and sales have taken off since then.
