Abstract
Trustees of the Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences in West Boothbay Harbor on Friday will vote on a controversial plan to merge the lab with the University of Maine at Orono's marine science program. The plan would probably involve moving the lab to Orono or the university's Darling Marine Center in Walpole, which caused former governor Kenneth Curtis to resign from the lab's board of trustees in October. Lab trustee Neil Rolde was working on a plan to merge the lab with the University of New England in Biddeford, but that proposal fell through. Details.
