Abstract

Former University of Southern Maine student Jon Steen, of Westboro, Mass., convicted of rape in connection with an assault on a woman at a Gorham fraternity house in 1991, has filed suit against two insurance companies seeking to have them pay to defend him against a lawsuit filed by his victim. Steen's attorney says that his client is entitled to the insurance coverage, since Steen did not intentionally injure the woman. The lawsuit is one of the first such in the state. Details.
