Fired Freeport Rescue Chief Deborah Libby has informed the town that she intends to file suit against Town Manager Dale Olmstead and three rescue workers for making false and defamatory statements about her. Libby is seeking $280,000, and said she also plans to sue on constitutional grounds, saying she was denied due process, was retaliated against for being a whistle-blower and was discriminated against for being a woman.
