Abstract

Freeport town officials say the $2 million federal grant the town received to extend sewer lines to the southern part of Route 1 will create growth opportunities but won't lead to strip development. The zoning ordinance now in place allows fast food eateries, service stations and convenience stores, but also requires a certain amount of space between buildings and green space. Details.
