Abstract

Three Portland waterfront businesses are competing for a longterm contract with Marine Spill Response Corp. to provide berthing for the Maine Responder, a 208-foot oil-spill cleanup ship which is due to arrive in Portland next week. Marine Spill Response Corp. is a non-profit organization established by the country's major oil companies, and has set up 22 oil-spill response sites nationwide.
