Abstract

Flood damage in Fort Fairfield has been estimated at between $1 million and $3 million, severe enough to warrant a request for a federal disaster declaration. Around 30 businesses and 70 homes were damaged over the weekend by the flooding, during which the Aroostook River overflowed its banks 22 feet above flood stage. Details.
