Abstract

Maine revenue officials have been staking out the New Hampshire state liquor store in Portsmouth, using binoculars to identify Maine residents bringing illegal amounts of alcohol into Maine. David Campbell, director of Maine's Bureau of Alcoholic Beverages, said that the state loses $7 million to $9 million in sales of alcoholic beverages to New Hampshire annually.
