Abstract

Brian Flanagan, chairman of the Maine Principal Association's outdoor track committee, said that in regional and state track meets a new two-false-start rule will replace the old rule, under which a participant was forced to withdraw after one false start. The first false start by a runner will now result in a warning to the entire field. The change in the rule was recommended by the coaches's association, and will be tried this season on an experimental basis. Details.
