Abstract

President Frederick E. Hutchinson of University of Maine at Orono yesterday outlined his vision for the school in front of a audience of 300. Hutchinson said that the university would focus on students, and try to impart nine life skills and values to them. His proposals include increasing the number of graduate assistantships to expand opportunities for students; encouraging more interdisciplinary graduate opportunities; developing more internships and community service opportunities; and enhancing cultural diversity.
