Abstract

Brief article reporting that the federal Environmental Protection Agency has proposed fines of $52,000 against Alternative Energy Inc. Northeast Limited Partnership and Beaver Plant Operations for exceeding carbon monoxide emission levels from a wood-fired burner in Livermore Falls. In a separate complaint, the agency is seeking a $72,000 fine against Fox Islands Electrical Cooperative in Vinalhaven for violating the law governing storage and record-keeping for PCBs.
