Abstract

Maine businesses are attempting to control health-care costs by adopting managed-care plans that rely on approved primary-care doctors who focus on primary care and prevention. The approved physcian acts as "gatekeeper," coordinating hospital treatment. Called "point-of-service managed care," it is considered the nation's fastest growing form of health care. Wtih an article about doctors' concerns about managed care.
